2020 Yangtze River Cruise Embarkation & Disembarkation Tips

The embarkation & disembarkation pier in Chongqing is Chaotianmen Dock. However, there are several piers in this area, make sure to contact your cruise or us to get the exact cruise pier number if you take a cruise from Chongqing.
Usually, the earliest check in time is 5:00 pm. The dinner on check in date is not included in your cruise ticket, but it is still OK to have a-la-carte dinner onboard at extra cost.

If you are taking an upstream cruise from Yichang to Chongqing, the check out time is around 9:00 am at Chaotianmen Dock.

Please be aware that all cruise ships will not go through the Three Gorges Dam ship locks since 2018. Passengers need to embark of disembark the cruise ships in Maoping Pier, Yichang.

3 Nights Downstream Passengers:
On Day 4, passengers will disembark at Maoping Pier, Yichang, and transferred to the Yichang Tourist Center in the downtown by motor coach after the Three Gorges Dam excursion. The arrival time is around 12:30 pm. (Passenger who take the optional ship-lift experience before Three Gorges Dam tour will arrive Yichang Tourist Center around 1:30 pm.)

4 Nights Upstream Passengers (who haven’t booked private transfer service to Maoping Pier):
On Day 1, passengers go to Yichang Tourist Center (142 Yanjiang Avenue, opposite side of Wanda Plaza) between 17:00-20:00 and get the coach ticket by showing your passport, and take a complimentary coach to Maoping Pier.

After your arrival at Maoping Pier, the representative of each cruise line will lead you to the cruise ship and check in your cruise on the main deck.
